Is My old Commander Phone System NBN compatible YES
Nearly all old commander phone systems are NBN compatible there is a lot of misconception in the industry regarding older phone systems the truth is most phone systems will run on the NBN with slight modifications. The only technology not currently embraced by the NBN is ISDN basic rates even this issue can be overcome in most cases by simply replacing the ISDN card with a different form of line card making your old phone system NBN compliant and utilise the modern technology, so if you get a phone call from a telephone company saying your phone system isn't NBN compatible and needs to be replaced ask them to explain more thoroughly as it probably isn't true.
